Dear Betty Davis,

I have so many questions to ask you. So much funk, so little time.
Wow, I am ridiculously happy right now. Thanks Monday morning coffee and mom hugs.

Been loving this work since I first spotted it with my girl Kristin at Rhona Hoffman in Chicago. Her work is mad beautiful, and something I could stare at for hours on end. Something about the pretty ladies and rhinestone that has me hooked.

Home...

California was sunny, and despite a major 'tectonic split' on Cesar Chavez, I really enjoyed myself.

a weekend with home cooking and long walking....

The sun is shinning, the air is cold, and the magnolia trees have bloomed. Days like this, I have to get nostalgic.

I had the fortune of bumping into this photographer in Swaziland. Her work is moving, and she is an incredible woman with a lot to share. Swaziland has the highest percentage of women with HIV in the world. With 26% of the population infected (population a little over a million), Krisanne addresses the issue through young woman.

Love this guy. His daughter has been posing for him since she was small. The collaboration is amazing. I get a real sense of their relationship through these recreations, or adaptations of early dutch paintings. I prefer his older work, when Paula, his daughter, is younger. Her age reveals her innocence and importance in ways that the newer photographs can not.
